We would like to make sure you knew that we have made changes to the 5050 and the 55AT to allow the use of the Western Rubber & Mfg. rotary joint. This is the same rotary joint that APE has been using with a lot of success for many years. These swivels have been a great update for the high quality line of augers that J&M have been making for many years. ...

If you want to do your best to protect our salmon or other marine life while driving pile, why not choose a vibratory hammer to drive that next underwater pile? With such an emphasis on the environment these days, a recent definitive study commissioned last year by Caltrans on the issue of the effects of pile driving on marine life lists vibrating pile as the best pile driving method to protect Sea Life. In section 2.5 titled: Common Underwater Sound Reduction Measures, vibration of pile is list ...

In May of 1997 APE began building diesel hammers in China. We teamed up with SEMW (Shanghai Engineering Machine Works). SEMW had been manufacturing diesel hammers since 1962 and specifically Delmag hammers since 1983.

In May of 1997 Delmag Germany filed for Bankruptcy which put SEMW in a bad situation. They were making the diesel hammers but Delmag was directing the sales both in and outside of China. When Delmag’s staff left China it was APE that arrived to fill in the gap. This is ...

Darryl, Dan and Ray Heaton are geared up and coming to full swing in their new, top of the line facility on Annacis Island in Delta, BC. Two times a year I have the honor and great privilege to spend a day with the Local 2404 trainees and journeymen. This day’s topic was a discussion about driver/extractors and diesel hammer systems. The basic workings and operation including technical information needed in the choosing of the right equipment for the job. Every time I have this opportunity I ...

Mascaro Construction, Pittsburgh's premier general contractor, was awarded the David Lawrence Convention Center Riverside Park job, which included driving steel sheeting, beams and pipe piles. In the past, Mascaro would sub out any pile driving work. But project manager Brad McKibben and Superintendent Bob Yeckel thought this would be the perfect job to self-perform. APE Northeast got the call, providing an APE 200 vibro equipped with a caisson beam, caisson clamps, and a caisson to clamp adapte ...

URS chose the fully APE fixed leader with telescoping leads so that they could avoid using a massive template system to drive the 120' x 14" H-piles on a 1 on 2 batter on their levee job in New Orleans. After a short learning curve and Ape replacing one service tech with no sense of urgency with one that had a high level of urgency to train the URS mechanics on the maintenence of the Ape equipment the customer was able to drive up to 33 piles a day per rig. ...

“FCI Constructors and the great sheet wall of Bethel Island”
There is an art to driving a straight sheet wall and that art takes years to learn. You can’t just look at it and make it stand straight, you have to work it. It takes patience and you got to go slow and easy. As soon as you get in a hurry things start going south in a hurry. Just ask Richard Foster with FCI Constructors! Richard has been driving sheet pile since he was kid, and that was a long time ago! He grew up in the piledrivin ...

APE China recently successfully produced it's first 1050HP Power unit engine to operate an APE 200-6 modified hammer. In China many customers are using a technique to drive concrete piles by pulling down on the top of the upper suppressor housing using a wench that is hooked to the bottom of their rig. This is the 3rd modified rig we have used in China. The purpose is to drive a near 8" thick can through the ground which eventually will be filled with concrete, then extracted out of the groun ...

On the 24th of December 1994, a Russian cruiser sank outside of a small village on the north coast of Norway, while broke free when being towed.

In short, the AF strategy consists of the dry dock demolition and removal of the wreck where it lies. This will be done by establishing breakwaters and constructing a dry dock around the “Murmansk” wreck. The water will then be pumped out of the dry dock so the wreck will be dry. Then construction machinery will then break down th ...
