APE diesel hammers were originally part of a joint venture between
Delmag-Maschinenfabrik and Shanghai Engineering Machine Works
(SEMW). The original contract can be viewed and printed out
for all to see by clicking here.
It clearly shows that these hammers have been made since 1984
in Shanghai, China.
In May of 1997, Delmag lost the relationship to SEMW due to
financial problems. APE took over the factory in China and started
making the hammers under the APE name.
It was a great addition to the APE line because our German engineer,
Bernie Klinke, was able to verify all the German drawings to
be original Delmag-Maschinenfabrik.
John White and Bernie Klinke remain true to the original German
drawings but have added new features to the diesel hammer line.
These include three new models, the D1, the D50 and the D125.
we also have added a variable fuel
pump and newer updated injectors. We constantly seek to
improve the product line.
We have exceeded the metal requirements of the piston and therefore,
our warranty is longer. Our parts fit as replacement parts for
German built Delmag hammers. Our parts pricing has dramatically
reduced operating costs for contractors across America.
